A little about myself…
Originally from Florence, Kentucky, I have been making things for as long as I can remember. From pot holders to doll houses, I received all kinds of craft supplies growing up and nothing went unused. I have always had an eye for aesthetics as well as how things go together. When not working, I enjoy hiking, making miscellaneous arts and crafts, and I travel as much as I can. Seeing a sunrise at the top of a mountain or trying a new cuisine always puts a smile on my face. I consider myself to be a friendly, approachable and calm human and it’s my goal to make at least one person laugh a day.
I received my BA in Architecture from the University of Kentucky. A few years later, I discovered the entertainment world and worked on my first film as an art production assistant. Since then I have received my MFA from Boston University while working in the New England area with IATSE 481. I toured with American Ballet Theater for a year, built parade floats for Macy’s and worked on several theatrical and film productions as a carpenter. On the design side of things, I have worked as an art director, AAD and set designer on a variety of TV and film productions in both the New England and NYC areas.
The fast-paced world of the entertainment industry has been appealing to me since I first discovered it. Hopping from one project to another is something that keeps life interesting, and I love that every job has its own problems to solve. I have worked on both the fabrication and design sides of production and enjoy them equally. I am in my element when I can help liaise between departments and keep the production moving smoothly, from design conception to final scenic touches.
I believe my strong fabrication background gives me a broader perspective when it comes to the design process, and allows me to communicate the production’s needs more clearly to all parties involved.
